Evaluación de la conducta y grado de sedación consciente en pacientes pediátricos del Centro Odontológico Especializado San Marcos de Andahuaylas - 2022

Abstract

El objetivo fue determinar la conducta y grado de sedación consciente en pacientes pediátricos. Siendo una investigación de alcance descriptiva y transversal, cuya muestra estuvo constituida por 100 pacientes. Para su recolección de datos se utilizó una ficha, la cual se apuntó el grado de sedación según la escala de Houpt. En los resultados se determinó según la valoración de llanto de la escala de Houpt que el 84% presentó no llanto a nivel basal, el 38% no llanto a inicio, el 35% categoría “continuo” a mitad de tratamiento y 41% no llanto al final. Respecto a somnolencia se registró el 58% soñoliento a nivel basal, el 50% soñoliento al inicio, el 55% despierto forcejeando a mitad de tratamiento y 46% despierto forcejeando al final. Referente a movimiento el 53% registró ligero movimiento en la categoría basal, el 45% ligero movimiento en el inicio, el 36% movimiento fuerte a la mitad y el 38% no registro movimiento al final. Respecto al comportamiento el 35% registró en la categoría regular a nivel basal, el 31% regular a inicio, el 43% malo a mitad del tratamiento y el 34% malo al final de tratamiento. The objective was to determine the behavior and degree of conscious sedation in pediatric patients. Being a descriptive and cross-sectional investigation, whose sample consisted of 100 patients. For data collection, a file was used, which recorded the degree of sedation according to the Houpt scale. In the results, it was determined according to the crying assessment of the Houpt scale that 84% had no crying at baseline, 38% no crying at the beginning, 35% a "continuous" category in the middle of treatment and 41% no crying. in the end. Regarding sleepiness, 58% were sleepy at baseline, 50% sleepy at the beginning, 55% awake struggling in the middle of treatment and 46% awake struggling at the end. Regarding movement, 53% registered slight movement in the basal category, 45% slight movement at the beginning, 36% strong movement in the middle and 38% did not register movement at the end. Regarding behavior, 35% registered in the regular category at baseline, 31% regular at the beginning, 43% bad in the middle of treatment and 34% bad at the end of treatment. It is concluded that regarding the behavior at the basal level, the beginning time and at the end of the time that the majority of children presented the "Regular" category.
