Abstract
In this study, the influence of organic fertilization on the yield of the pickle crop (Cucumis sativus) in the Quitasol - Abancay - Apurímac sector was investigated. The research design used was experimental, using the completely randomized block design (DBCA) with three treatments and three repetitions, including a control group without organic fertilization. The treatments evaluated were the application of chicken manure and island guano. Different variables were measured, such as plant length, fruit length, number of fruits, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant. The data collected were subjected to analysis of variance (ANVA) and the Tukey test to identify significant differences between treatments. A significance level of 5% was established to contrast whether the averages observed in the treatments were due to the effects caused by the application of organic fertilizers. The results showed that both chicken manure and island guano had a significant effect on gherkin yield compared to the group without organic fertilization. Statistically significant differences were found in variables such as plant length and fruit length. However, no significant differences were found between the chicken manure and island guano treatments for these variables. Regarding yield, it has been found that the treatment with "Island Guano" had significantly, at 95% reliability, the highest production of gherkins per hectare (55,556.00 kg/ha) than the other treatments
