Abstract
The research work titled “Birth Weight and Colostrum Production in Criollo Beef Cattle - Sorcca - Huanipaca - Abancay – 2018”, is a concern for having valuable information to propose improvement programs, for this purpose the Objective was raised. To determine birth weight and colostrum production in Creole cattle - Sorcca, the materials used were: electronic scale, bovine measuring tape, liter buckets, evaluation sheets and stationery materials. The research methodology used is descriptive because it is a scientific method that involves observing, weighing and describing with a quantitative approach; The following results were obtained: The weight of the mother of the Creole cattle before calving is an average of 344,571 kg, with a coefficient of variation of 10.507%, the live weight of the calf at birth of the Creole cattle in the Sorcca sector is in average 26.5 kg, with a coefficient of variation of 7.459% and finally the production of colostrum (L) of the Creole cattle in the Sorcca sector, is on average 30.2 L, during the three days of production and 10.1 L, per day with coefficient of variation variation of 6.7060%, so we conclude that the results obtained are typical of Creole cattle but it is also a consequence of poor feeding with natural meadow grasses, for not providing balanced food and management corresponding to this animal species, it also indicates that The data obtained is not very dispersed.
